Branching to a knowledge check or jumping straight to first topic

I have used branching for learner to choose to do Knowledge Check or go straight to first topic (2 buttons) but when launching the project the button used to jump straight to first topic goes to the knowledge check - any help appreciated

I set up 2 shapes (converted to buttons). One branches to the Knowledge Check (5 knowledge check slides) and the other jumps to a slide number 13.  I have attached a snapshot of the branching that shows them branching to correct slides.  I have tried 'Preview Project' and publishing the project into our LMS and in both instances when clicking on the button to go straight to slide 13 it goes to slide 5 being the start of the Knowledge Check.
