I created a cptx file from a Powerpoint file.
I don't think I linked it.
I would like a new version of a Powerpoint file to replace my existing Cptx
But I would like to keep my controls and other buttons.
How can I do this?
I believe your best option would be to go to the EDIT tab, and choose "Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint". This will allow you to update only certain portions of either a slide or the entire presentation, without having to recreate it from scratch. Additionally, when Importing a PPT slide deck, you may want to consider checking the "High Fidelity" box, which will preserve the integrity of your timings/animations. Does this help?

Thanks abeard!! I have no animations whatsoever. Just an elaborate background that was created in PPTX.

Okay. Just know that when you import a PPT file, it essentially becomes the background in Captivate. Meaning, you can add new shapes/objects, but can not place them BEHIND the PPT graphic(s). Hope this helps. If not, let me know. If so, please mark it as helpful, or the correct answer, so that it is captured as such.
