Can audio be told to not play on mobile?

I'm building a responsive course in Captivate 8. I know that you can remove certain images from each breakpoint simply by moving them off the screen. Is there any way to tell the audio to not play on one particular breakpoint, in this case the phone view?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, I've not tested this but I'm wondering if it would work to have the audio attached to an object that gets moved off the stage for the mobile breakpoint?

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick. How would I do that? Relatively new to Captivate here.

When you click an object and display the properties panel, you click the Options tab and the Add Audio button.

Got it. Unfortunately, it didn't work though. The audio still plays in the phone breakpoint.

Interesting because I was testing via the preview moments ago and audio was absent when the breakpoint hid the object. I tested by creating two slides. One had a button pointing to the second slide and the second slide had a button pointing back to the first. Then I attached the audio to the shape. For the Tablet breakpoint I moved the shape onto the pasteboard.

Did you test in Captivate's preview or by publishing and testing via a device? Because I might imagine a device could be a bit different.

Hmm...it was just in preview. I will try to publish and test on my device in a bit. Good thought!

Well I'm unable to test on my mobile device for some reason. I usually test by putting it in my public Dropbox and email the link to my phone/tablet. I think the size is causing my mobile browser to crash. Strange, because whenever I do this with a Storyline course the size isn't an issue.

Hi again. This didn't seem to work for me. The sound effect is still present on the mobile view, even though the object was moved off the slide.

By the way, my mobile problems are strictly iOS. The course runs fine on Android and even Kindle. Do you have any idea why the iOS version would act up? The loader just spins, and often crashes without even playing the first slide. Most of our users are on iOS devices.

Sorry, but I'm not a "device" guy. I know the principles, but don't have the means to test and play with devices. No iPad. I do have a smarty pants phone, but I don't use it for apps. I pay $7 per month and buy minutes. So I only use it for occasional voice calls and a few text messages.

Others will have to chime in for advice on devices.

Cheers... Rick
