Hello All,
I have few trainings that were created using Captivate 7, which might need some content update in future. Now if I install Captivate 2017 I do not want to corrupt the older files trying to open them in the newer version. So can I have both Captivate 7 and Captivate 2017 in my laptop without any issues? Can they both both co exist?
Appreciate any comments/suggestion.
Thanks
Anu
No problem... you can have multipe versions of CP on one system, at least for perpetual licenses. For subscription licenses it is limited to 2.

Thank you. So if any files for Captivate 7 gets corrupted by any chance will an uninstall of the newer version fix that?
thanks

I don't think so, but that is not related to having two versions of Captivate which are very different BTW. A corrupted file means that a slide or an object, eventually with attached actions is not functioning properly, has nothing to do with another version intalled.

There is no problem having various version installs. I have Captivate 5, 5.5, 6, 7,8,9 and 2017 installed on a Win 7 box which I use to remediate and bring content forward to a later version. Clients still give me older projects and I generally open them in that version just to see how they were built. No problems at all as they are separate installs.
On my Win 10 training machines I have Captivate 6 - 2017. I have some clients who by choice tend not to want to spend the dollars to update earlier version, so when new staff are hired I ensure them that I can train them on the version that they have installed. Again no problems at all as they are separate installs.
Until recently I had Cap 2 - 4 on a Win xp box - but hey had to finally give it up.
