Using Adobe Captivate 2017, is there a way for me to provide a quiz a button that will allow the user to go to slide 1 before completing the quiz?

You can add Smart Shape buttons to quiz slides, or you could just add a slide in between quiz slides and put your button on that slide.
What would be the purpose of going back to the first slide before completing the quiz?

RodWard thank you for your feedback. I will give it a try and let you know how it works.
To answer your question, I have a very important Instructional Design job interview coming up this week. I am taking the liberty of creating an online portfolio using Adobe Captivate 2017. It's rather artistic and is showing my various skills, including eLearning Design. As a way of trying to be "clever," I am taking the liberty of creating a quiz at the end of the Captive presentation on why they should hire me. However, I do have a quiz button at the very beginning of the presentation, so just in case they choose that I want to allow them to go back to the beginning.
When I have completed my Captivate Portfolio I'll send you the link via PM. I would like your opinion.

It doesn't seem to be working. I might have done it wrong.
For now, I am going to have the quiz button inactive until at the very end of the presentation. This way I won't have to worry about the return button in the quiz.

You may have Backward Movement disabled in quiz settings. If so, that would explain why you were not able to jump back.

Something may prevent returning to a content slide: Backward movement not allowed in Quiz Preferences, having changed the Required field from the default Optional to a more strict ccndition, having Branch aware checked or having Pretest slides.
