Can I "trade" an unactivated Captivate 9 license for a Captivate 2017 licence?

New Here ,

I was presented with a Captivate 9 license, but would prefer Captivate 2017. Since the license has not yet been activated, is there any way to convert it to a Captivate 2017 license?

(Fingers crossed. Which explains away any typos.)

If Captivate is part of a Cloud subscription (I don't use it, so don't know) you will always have the most recent version

If Captivate is not part of the Cloud, I don't think Adobe has a trade in process... but you MAY be able to receive a discount on buying an upgrade version rather than a full version

Since I don't use Captivate, I don't even how how/where you purchase the program

Just FYI Captivate is NOT part of the CC.

I will try to find a staff member to answer your question, I'm just a user.

Do you have a subscription or a perpetual license? From your question I would suspect a perpetual license. In that case you could be able to get an update price. If it is a subscription license, you can just download CP2017 and use the Adobe ID which is linked with your CP9 subscription.

Thanks, Lily. I realize it's separate from CC. I guess I'm kind of looking

for charity. lol

BTW - I love your blog, esp. micro-navigation. As well, I'm hoping to do

big things with variables and such. I'm currently learning Javascript and

plan to learn HTML, CSS, VB and seeing what I can combine and achieve in

concert.

Thanks for your kind words. Always a pleasure to meet an unknown fan of my blog.

JS is a great extension to be used in Captivate, personally I rarely use HTML nor CSS in combination with CP.

Hello,

If you had purchased Adobe Captivate 9 as perpetual license(you would have a serial key of Captivate 9), then you can purchase Adobe Captivate 2017 with an upgrade price. As stated above, in case of subscription, you can just download the latest version and use the same Adobe Id to activate it. You may follow this link for the pricing of Adobe Captivate 2017 Adobe Captivate (2017 Release) - Buying Guide .
