Hi! I am in the process of reviewing Captivate as a potential software for our online e-learning for CE courses. I can't seem to get the review questions to meet the specs required by our CE affiliations.
Throughout the course, there are "reviews" where student is asked questions. These are ungraded questions. A response is not required. Each time the student chooses an answer, they are provided with feedback (evaluative or reinforcement), there is no limit to the number of times they can choose an answer and review the feedback. Oh, and the feedback must be different for each answer.
Any tips on how to build this interaction?
Also, I would like to be able to include these review sections in the same project as the final exam (one Captivate file in the end).. is that possible?
I've not had much luck at all with support. Thanks in advance for your reply!

If you want to use the default type of questions, they have to be scored, but you do not have to include the score in the Total score. That way, the end score for the final quiz will not include the score of the knowledge check slides. However, some quizzing system variables like number of questions will keep track of all the questions. There are workarounds. Here you find an overview of the system variables.

Another approach is to create custom question slides for the knowledge check questions. You can then get rid of the 'score', just provide feedback and have total controls. To create custom question slides you use the standard objects, widgets, interactions and use advanced/shared actions and variables. You can find several examples on my blog. One of the latests:

That is mostly my personal approach, allows more creativity but also needs some more work.
Sorry about support, don't know who you contacted?

Thanks for the reply! I will check out your blog, and will probably go with the custom question. I only need to get it created right, one time.. and then I can use it again and again!
I called Adobe technical support, each time I didn't get any helpful advice. Thanks again!

It depends on the way you create the custom question slides. Try to prepare everything, with reusing in mind: labeling, variables, shared actions whenever possible. That will make reusing a lot easier. At this moment I'm busy writing a first cookbook for (Shared) actions, one dedicated to Quizzes is the second on my to-do-list.
