Can't pan around with space bar - Timeline Plays

Hiya, daft question, 

When I try to hold down the spacebar to pan around my slide, instead of the hand tool appearing, the timeline plays. I don't know what I've done to make this happen. At the moment, the only way I can move about the sldie when I'm zoomed in is by using the scroll bars, which is a bit annoying. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Although Captivate is an Adobe app, it doesn't have the same tools as Photoshop, Illustrator. Afeter years of pleading the team added the Rulers and Guides. You have the zoom tool, but not with all the shortcut keys you are used to. I gave up pleading for the Hand tool to avoid those awful scrollbars. Maybe you can try to plead for it in a feature request?

Like in some video tools, the spacebar will indeed start playing the Timeline.... Same result as the Play button in the Timeline panel, or the option Play Slide from the Preview button. Pressing the spacebar again will pause the timeline... similar to After Effects and Premiere Pro.
