Cannot change layer order on SmartShape used as button - Captivate 10

I am using a MacBook Pro with Captivate 10.0.0.192.

I created a rectangular SmartShape and made it into a button and added some custom states which are activated by other buttons on the slide. I needed this shape to be on the very top layer, but when I tried to drag it up there, it behaved strangely. The following screenshot is what the timeline looks like after trying to drag SmartShape 188 to the top of the timeline. You see it stays where it is and leaves an empty space.

Then I go to another slide and back to the slide with the problem -  and it is back the way it was before I tried to move it.

I found a similar problem in this forum and Lilybiri said to repost it with more details... so maybe this post kind of does that.

Thanks for any help!

I just tried restarting Captivate. It did not help. But I did fix it.

Inside my custom shapes I had added some extra rectangle shapes outside the original border of the shape. When I deleted these shapes, (even though I needed them.) I could change the layer order with no problems.

Apparently, I tried to make the custom states too complicated. I will figure out another way to do what I need.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure you have to worry about it, that display refresh glitch appears since a couple of versions. Did you try to navigate to another slide and come back, or to reset the workspace?

TIP: alternative for dragging to change the stack order is the right-click menu, Arrange. Or you can use the buttons on the Align toolbar, which you can activate using the Windows menu.

Yes, thank you....you see my second screenshot is where I went to another slide and back again. So, I have tried that trick and also I have already tried the right-click menu, arrange. Neither one of these work. The layer refuses to budge.

Restarted Captivate or even your system?
