Cannot export captions on Captivate 9.

After upgrading my project from Captivate 8 to 9, I cannot export captions anymore. Tried multiple projects.

No errors during export, but the exported .doc file is just empty. Anyone else is experiencing the same issue?

Env:

Win 10

Captivate 9.0.0.233

Ms. Office 2013

What options have you got turned on in the Print output settings?

Show us some screenshots.

What should the settings be? I see nothing related to the closed captions, however it does seem to be related to Word.

I suspect you are talking about File, Export Text Captions and Closed Captions? I'm a bit confused because Rod is talking about Printing to Word which is a different option.

If you are pointing to the Export function: which OS are you using and which version of Word? This has always been a bit tricky....sometimes it works if you open Word at the same time as Captivate, sometimes you have to keep it closed. Some Office versions seem to be incompatible with some versions of Captivate.

Hi,

Font color might be white. Can you change the font color and let me know if you still see the issue?

Thanks,

Sankaram.

I had the same issue - it's most likely the font color in your captions (white?) aka Captivate's new "NSA-Text-Export-Camouflage-Feature" (yay) 😉  - meaning: The text IS exported "correctly", but Captivate does not only export the raw text but its formatting as well, which includes its color. So if your caption's text is white, Captivate exports white text into a Word-document with white background - which you should discover when you colorize the text in Word ....

Cheers

If the font color is not your issue, try uninstalling and re-installing MS Word. That's what finally worked for me today.

Yes, it just started happening to me today. Seemed to happen right after Microsoft pushed updates.
