Cannot locate any double bars (||) on the effect timeline that represent the pause points. for the m

I'm loving the AI added to search tools, like CoPilot, but I know it doesn't always pull up full accuracy, so am checking in here with you pros . . . 😉

I'm working in Captivate Classic and want to use the motion path effect on an object so that it acts like a bullet point going from one place on the screen to the first block of text that I have appear, but then it drops down in a vertical line to the next paragraph that appears after the first one's voiceover is complete. I tried to do this with Custom Lines effect but wasn't able to see the pause point on the timeline for the effect to adjust how long it might pause there (as long as the voiceover for that bit of text). Copilot told me to just "locate any double bars (||) on the effect timeline that represent the pause points to adjust them. (I did type in that I was using Classic). Of course I see the visual pause/directional(?) points on the physical timeline which I have set to 'show' but they allow me to move the position on the screen, not set any amount of time the object might pause there. Is this not doable? Copilot did say that I needed to use Custom Curves effect, but I'm seeing the same white dots on the path and neither instance is showing me the "double bars on the effect timeline" . . . Your assistance is appreciated! +aio

You may have a look at:

New Captivate 12 and AI/ChatGPT/Copilot - Captivate blog (lilybiri.com)

It is about a discussion I had with Copilot.

You can never have a pausing point on a Effect timeline. If there is a pausing point somewhere on the slide from an interactive object, and the Effect is not finished when reaching that pausing point, the effect will freeze.

It is not completely clear to me what you want to achieve, sorry.  I suspect that you'll need the Delay Next Actions command?

Which version of Captivate Classic are you using? Full version number please, as found under Help, About Captivate.

11.8.2.254 - I'll check out that Copilot Chat, thx. And you're likely right that I will need to work in Advanced Actions. It seemed simple enough to be able to pause an object along a path for a determined amount of time, then allow it to continue. I can do what I need to a different way . . . I just like to figure out when I'm blocked, how to solve the issue when it may arise again and the alternative way won't fit. My goal was a sort of roving bullet-point that preceded paragraphs of text in order, as they appeared. But I can easily create separate ones . . . just wanted to try this out.
