Cap 9 missing files

I've had ongoing problems with Cap 9 for the past few months. First, I keep getting fatal errors and then thrown out of Captivate. Tried several things to fix. Nothing works. We finally got the year subscriptions and now I'm missing files and still fatal error; when I create New, I get 1 blank slide and 3 question slides in the Master. Also, when I try to open a cap 9 file from a folder, it defaults to Captivate 8 instead. Why would Cap 9 be my default, especially since filed were created in Cap 9. Should I uninstall Cap 8 anyway?

Today, had IT guy uninstall Cap 9 32 bit and install 64 bit. Still missing files.

Did the IT guy follow the release notes? They tell to clean preferences and to delete folders in Public documents. The Layouts folder in those public documents has the themes. You can still delete that folder safely, while CP is closed. When restarting CP a new copy will be created in public documents.

Are you on 9.0.2.437? Do you Run Captivate as Administrator if you are in Win?
