Captivate 11.8.0.710 issues with Monterey 12.5.1.

We were thinking of buying Captive so I am trying out the trial version. Two big problems:

(1) I can't import powerpoint slides. Failure mode: see screenshot

(2) Can't publish. Error: see screenshot

I do have openJDK installed. (Adobe support  also installed Oracle JDK).

I had Adobe Support working with me. (They see the errors I mention above). They told me that the problem is conflicts with Crowdstrike Falcon. They gave me a version of Captivate which reports itself as 11.8.0.11. This solves the problems above.  We are concerned that the supported release does not work for us and don't know the status of the 11.8.0.11 version. In a couple sessions, I worked with Adobe Support about 2 hours. The trial version never worked, just the 11.8.0.11.

With the trial version running, Our IT department monitored Crowdstrike Falcon  while I demonstrated the failure modes. Our IT department says Crowdstrike did not trigger.  We are currently getting permission to disable Falcon for additional testing. But so far, it does not look like a Crowdstrike Falcon issue according to our IT department.

First of all, this is abnormal.  How can this be?  I've used Adobe Captivate before at other companies and it worked. Adobe is better than this. I would expect this community to be on fire if everyone was seeing what I'm seeing.

Is anyone successfully running a supported version of Captivate on Monterey 12.5.1? anything close?

I did see in this Community that some people reported success with configuring exceptions into Crowdstrike Falcon (approx. 8/25/22).  Any more info there would be appreciated.

Given your experience, assuming you have mac users as well as windows users, would you buy Captivate again?

In fact, any insights or help would be appreciated.  Clearly there may be something else at play I don't see. Thanks very much in advance.

Also, I tried to find log files on my mac to see if I could find a clue. The location of the install logs is documented but I couldn't find operational log files.  Any tips on troubleshooting and log diving appreciated.

Thanks again

I remember your thread about the issues with publishing. You may remember that I am a Windows user, and that means a lot less problems when the OS is updated.  Mac updates seem to break Captivate all the time, and that is also the case with some other Adobe applications (probably also from other companies). This comment is based on what I have seen in this and other Captivate forums. Moreover it also looks like the number of Mac Captivate users is much lower than their Windows peers. There are a few Mac users helping to answer questions once in a while, but not consistently. If they are using Captivate a lot they are very hesitant to update immediately to a new version of their OS. Not very encouraging, I know...

As for the log files, when a crash happens, they appear in the installation folder on my Windows system. They also come as a pair, as you can see in this screenshot:

Last comment: I never use Captivate to import PPT slides at all, which is not a very good feature in Captivate. No tips for such an import.

Thanks!  We believe it is a Monterey issue.  A colleague who is running Monterey 12.2 was just able to do the things I can't do with the same version of Captivate.  He had Crowdstrike running (he is the Crowstrike Admin and we were just trying to get him to the point where he could recreate the issue).  So our current thinking (subject to learning more) is that it is an issue with Monterey more recent than 12.2 (don't know precisely) and NOT an issue with  Crowdstrike Falcon.
