Captivate 12.3 CCs for audio

Hi there - there are a lot of great ways to display information in the New Captivate, however, there doesn't seem to be an option to add CCs when you use audio on state changes (such as click to reveals), or any widgets. Am I missing something or are we just locked into basic functionality if we need our courses to be accessable?

On a side note, is there any way to divide up a page similiar to wordpress/HTML with Divs? It seems extremely limited for formatting.

Thanks!

Indeed, due to the focus on only responsive projects, this new version is limited for formatting. For more control you need either to wait for future releases or switch to Captivate Classic.

CC is always in synch with Captivate's timeline audio, also indicated in previous releases as slide audio. If you use any other type of audio like object audio or in your case audio attached to a state, it is no longer in synch with the slide timeline, and for that reason cannot have CC.

That's what I thought, thanks for confirming. This is such an enormous mistep for the new captivate - it makes it unusable. Why give us the ability to make really pretty and interactive training that wouldn't be accessible when most of us have to design courses that *must* be accessible? We're then locked into a drag-and-drop version of WordPress that's over 15 years old and essentially is a piece of outdated trash. It just boggles my mind how Adobe doesn't even understand what their customers use the application for.

If it was not the 'new' Captivate, I would have answered differently. You can always add replace the CC for the type of audio you are using, by adding the text to that state which has the audio clip attached. That is simply what I do in Captivate Classic.  That may be very simple for a non-responsive project, a bit more cumbersome for a non-responsive project with fluid boxes. However the new Captivate has its focus on responsive projects and on canned slide templates and blocks which makes the level of control much lower.

It is not my only complaint with this new version in its present state. Creating interactions is a lot more cumbersome, takes at least 5 times the clicks and work that was needed with shared and advanced actions in the previous version. I still use version 11.5.5.553 because of my clients' requests which are impossible to realize in the new version and difficult in version 11.8.3.
