I have recently been asked to use Captivate 2017 due to a client upgrading. On courses built with version 9 and converted the 'Preview Project', or 'Preview from this slide' does not work properly. In my first screen, the button to move on in missing, then all other screens look similar to this.
When this used to happen in Captivate 9 I simply closed Captivate and reopened it, but with Cap 2017 this issue persists.
To be clear, this is a Captivate 9 file that has been converted to version 2017.
The red arrows show missing elements.
Thanks,
Barry

If these buttons are image buttons, and what you are seeing in the published output is literally these red squares, then try changing the slide quality setting to High Quality 24 bit. I have seen this issue at times when the bit depth of the graphics was too high for slides that were set to Optimized quality or lower.

If those are image buttons, follow Rod's advice. If they are shape buttons on the master slide or timed for the rest of the project, did you try the Browser previews?

Where was that button? Maybe on master slide? Did you try Preview in
Browser +F12 or Preview HTML5 in browser (F11)?

The buttons are in fact Image buttons and changing the Quality to 24-bit did not work.
I can use the Preview HTML5 in browser (F11), but my preferred method has always been the F4 or F8 previews.
This happens on two machines with newly installed Captivate 2014.

If this is a normal, non-responsive project, the Preview methods use a temporary Flash file, with the exception of F11. That may explain your problem?

Sorry for the late reply. It was a normoal non-responsive project.
I had a number of very large images on the first screen (most hidden, but kept for review), but since removing them the Preview Project (F4 or F8) seems to work OK now. Althought this could be coincendence.
