I have set up a quiz in captivate 7 and when the participant clicks to continue to next question there appears to be a lag time with the previous question still remaining on the page before the next question appears. I have looked at timings and all looks fine. The only thing I can think of is that I may have too many objects on the slide. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. thank you.

Sorry but that option is not available for Captivate quiz questions. They all require the learner to click the Submit button AFTER making their final choice of answer/s.
I think the design belief is that people might change their mind after selecting and want to use another answer instead.
But even though the 'sudden death' question, like the one you want, is not currently supported by standard quiz questions, you could create your own interaction that worked more this way using interactive objects and Learning Interactions.

Thanks for that Rob. So would I be right in assuming then that if I created my own interaction that I wouldn't be able to get a final score at the end of the quiz?

You CAN set interactive objects to have scores and report to the quiz. What is not currently possible is to have an interaction of your own creation be treated exactly the same way as a quiz slide and appear in the Review Quiz etc.

About the lag: can you check the pausing point on the question slide? It is visible on the timeline. If you left the Success/Last attempt actions set to the default Continue command, the inactive part of the question slide has to be visited by the playhead before proceeding to the next slide. You could change the command to 'Go to Next slide' - which can sometimes cause issues, or you can drag the pausing point bit closer to the end of the quiz slide, to decrement the length of the inactive part (not too close). All scores that you indicate to be added to the Total score, and reported will be. Keep an eye on the Advanced Interaction panel that gives you a nice overview of all the objects and question slides that can be included.

Thanks for those suggestions. Have tried them but still no joy. It may be that I have too many elements on the page.

From what I see on the screenshot, I deduct that you did delete answer objects, not even sure that the Question object is using the default placeholder. Moreover you pushed the pausing point until the end, which I personally do not recommend, leave at least 0.2sec of inactive part, to give Captivate some time to evaluate the question. For the user 0.2secs will not be noticed. So the lag is not due to the pausing, but probably to deleting essential objects.

Thanks for that Lilybiri, I did delete the answer objects to send the screen shot thru to you in case you needed to see the layout of the slide. They are normally on the page when I run thru the module. I will try what you have suggested above and see how that goes. Interestingly without the answer objects on the slide there is no lag time. Maybe I have set the answer objects up incorrectly?
