Captivate 8 and AICC error

New Here ,
Mar 23, 2015 Mar 23, 2015

All thanks in advance for your help.

My organization is attempting to transition our content away from storage on our LMS to storage on our own servers and using the LMS to launch and report. We are trying to publish in AICC. Almost everything works great, we can upload the course to our content server, we can upload the course using AICC, and we can launch the course from our LMS. When the course launches, we get the following error on both courses we have attempted this with: "ERROR - LMS did not return a valid status code. Press 'OK' to view debug information to send to technical support." When I click 'OK', I get a blank window with no HTML at all.

We are using the Kenexa LMS and Captivate 8.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Jeremy

My idea would be to try SCORM 1.2 instead of AICC. It would be extremely difficult to find the issue in the Captivate AICC files and find a solution.

We are in the process of a name change and have over 100 courses to republish. SCORM 1.2 takes approximately 20 minutes per course with our LMS making this prohibitively long.

Thanks.

Can I reopen this thread?

I am using Captivate Classic and I have uploaded my courses in our LMS called Academy. I uploaded my course in AICC format and not SCORM 1.2 as my LMS would only accept AICC.

It has been uploaded successfully however, when we access the course? this error would appear (the same error with the thread starter). It shows the course and we can finish the course, however, it doesnt save the progress or completion to the LMS.

Is there a solution to this?

TIA for your help!

Have you ever successfully uploaded AICC-based content in that LMS? The most typical problem is a cross-domain issue, where the content resides on one domain; and the LMS on another.

Can you paste the contents of the debugging information that appears when you click OK?

If you click OK at that dialog another window doesn't appear; or it appears blank?

if i click the OK, the course will show and I can access the course, however, it doesnt save the progress/completion of the course in the LMS.

I would have expected, when you clicked OK, that a separate pop-up would have appeared, or attempted to appear. Do you see any indication that a pop-up was blocked?

The other way to attempt to see any logging is to look in the browsing debug tools. I was not able to reproduce the type of error you received, though I know what you are talking about. I don't know if the logging appears there, but I am hopeful it's there. Launch the file. When you get the error - you probably have to click OK; and then based on the browser/platform, you can either press <Ctrl> + <Shift> + I (or select the three dots at the top of the browser and look for any indication of tools or more tools and ultimately Developer Tools.  If you can find it - look for any AICC messages you can copy/paste here from the console tab.
