I have both Captivate 8 and Captivate 9 installed. I recently needed to use Captivate 8 for compatibility with a client, and found that when I created a simulation Captivate put big white boxes over each of the captured slides. Only a small border of the captures shows around the edges of the white boxes. This never happened before installing Captivate 9. Does anyone know how to fix this issue in Captivate 8 so that the whole screen capture shows without a big white rectangle on each slide?

Sounds like the slide could be attached to a Master Slide with a white shape and the Properties of your slide is set to have Master Slide Objects On Top.
Check the Slide Properties and check if this is the case. If so, deselect that option.

The master slide was not on top. I did some experimenting by applying different themes. I can't say for sure because I didn't try applying ALL the themes, but it seems to happen only when the theme named 'White' is chosen in Captivate 8.

Captured slides do use the Blank master slide. It is very important not to edit or even delete that slide. Check also if you did not inherit that box from the main master slide on the blank master slide.

I'm curious as to why the Blank master slide should not be edited or deleted?

Jay, because it is used for capturing. You can always duplicate the Blank master slide if you want another version, but for software simulations you need it to be "clean". I discovered this a couple of years ago after a long search for another user and put it on my list of ' To Avoid'. I doubt you'll find it in the Help.

Interesting. Of course, that information would not be in the Help. There's a lot of information missing from Help. I'm grateful that you are helping the community and filling in for some things that are missing.
