I have published a Captivate 9 project as a SCORM package in HTML5, and I am replaying the program in ScormCloud on the most updated version of Google Chrome. My OS is Windows 7.
The audio cuts off the last 1-2 words of the recordings added to objects (speech bubbles of cartoon characters). When I played the same HTML5 project packaged as a non-SCORM ZIP file from my local desktop, I did not have the same issues.
I need a solution to correct this issue ASAP as the project is for a large company and we are scheduled to launch. Thank you.

This could be any number of things. What is the source of the audio? Are you creating text to speech or are you importing mp3 or wav files into your project?
If it’s text to speech, I usually put a short pause at the beginning and end of the narration to simulate a real human pausing for breath. The Neospeech VTML syntax for a half second pause is <vtml_pause time="500"/>.
If not Text to Speech, Check that your audio isn’t set to fade out in the properties panel.

Hello pbdw1969,
The audio recordings were made directly in CP9 through a microphone. The audio is neither Text-to-Speech, nor is it set to fade out. Thank you for the tips about TTS.

Move the audio clips so that there is a gap before and after the clip.

Thank you, Lilybiri. The main audio issue is with the audio files inserted into objects. This is a useful tip as well.

Our team researched more solutions, yet inserting "dirty silence" before and after each object audio clip appears to be the most effective (yet-not-as time-efficient) solution. It would be helpful if (1) Adobe CP would not automatically remove the silence added before and/or after audio clips in objects, or (2) offer a "dirty silence" button to insert before and after each audio clip.

My team member mentioned that other posts are recommending not to record audio in objects and, instead, only use the narration feature which offers one audio track. I thought that I would share this as well just in case someone is doing research on this issue prior to building a larger course (75+ slides). They may be able to save themselves hours of work.

Was there any reason provided for this? I use object level audio almost in every course. I don't have any problems with it either. That said, it very seldom is narration. For example, in my knowledge checks I add a happy bing! sound when the user gets the question correct and a not so happy bonk-bonk sound when they get an answer wrong.

Please, do not put such a vague comment in a thread. Which posts are you referring to, please? Each way of inserting audio in a Captivate course has its advantages and disadvantages. Most training never talk about that nor about good practice, since most trainees simply want step-by-step recipes without explanation. I blogged several times about ways to insert audio. All depends on what you exactly want: control over pausing/restarting audio? More than one audio on a slide? Restarting or pausing audio made possible? Did you read about that?
There is no reason whatsoever to limit to slide audio, which is NOT controllable at all. Only reason to keep to slide audio is when you want to use the built-in CC feature of Captivate. Object audio and Audio objects allow a lot more control (Audio Objects: Control them! - Captivate blog) . If you ever want an explanation to play only the first time that the user visits a slide, you can either use Object audio with a conditional action or use Micronavigation with slide audio. The second scenario is a lot more complicated, and less to be trusted.
For any reader of this thread: I don't know which 'other posts recommend not to record....'. As a long-time user of Captivate and a musician (audio is very important in eLearning courses) I totally disagree.

do you have a solution on why the audio gets cut?

I suggested to insert 'noise' at the beginning and the end of the audio clips attached to objects.
