I am not all that new to Captivate but definitely do not code. I am having issues with the bookmarking in a Captivate 9 course that I was hoping someone could help with and had a simple solution to. I have a few plain jane slides before a video ( that is not set to autoplay ) and then several questions after it. If I stop the course after answering the first question the bookmark takes me to the video instead of the second question. If I watch the video all the way through I then see the second question and not the first. It is like the video did not have anything to really do with the bookmarking??? Hell maybe bookmarking is not the issue and it has more to do with my video slide settings???
No Clue???

Can you check Advanced Interaction panel (F9)? You do not have a scored object on that video slide?

It lists the slide number but no real info like points...just on succcess: hide playbar, attemps:infinite, on fail: no action.

No score whatsoever in Advanced Interaction? But you talked about questions, there should be scores, even if they are not added to the total score.
Do you have advanced actions on the video slide?

Sorry, I was referring to the video slides only. The question slides do have points etc.

Hope your holidays were restful. Any other ideas on this issue? Are you saying the slides with videos should not even be listed in the F9 panel?

You final question of the previous reply...On the video slide I do have On Enter: Hide Playbar and Continue Playing the Project selected. No action on Exit. I don't mind going back and forth but would it be easier if I sent you a condensed version of the project (~20mb vs 655mb)?

The Advanced Interactions panel is only going to be showing objects that are potentially INTERACTIVE. Videos are not.
Captivate's Resume Data bookmarking (used by the LMS to know where to return the learner on resuming their lesson) is mostly related to quiz slide elements or other interactive objects that are set to report to the quiz (and even then I'm not certain they count). So the bookmarking is not really all that interested in slides that have no part in the quiz.

Are you saying that if I had 100 slides (no questions) that Captivate is not interested in bookmarking so that I could stop somewhere and pick up where I left off when I return? Quiz or not quiz related??? Sorry but I am not making the connection to my issue. I believe I have found a work around at this point, but my previous issue above would occur as Flash Scorm 1.2 in the LMS and not as HTML5. The flash version always wanted to play the previous video on a slide rather than just displaying the slide that was bookmarked. It was as if the video was not tied to a slide??? Thanks for trying to help.

What I am saying is that the Advanced Interactions panel lists all slides in the project, but it's purpose is to really to help you see all slides that have interactive objects that may or may not be reporting to the quiz and therefore could be tracked in the LMS. This dialog does not list all objects on the slides, only interactive objects. Since videos are NOT interactive objects, they don't appear listed in the Advanced Interactions panel.
Videos in mobile devices and mobile browsers often work differently to videos in desktop browsers. Get used to the fact that what works one way on a desktop won't necessarily work the same way in HTML5 on a mobile.

That panel explanation makes perfect sense. I can understand that mobile can sometimes yield different behavior than a desktop but I would have thought HTML5 or Flash on a desktop should both behave the same. Any idea why a video on page 2 would play over page 3 content if the bookmark was for page 3? Im not really understanding how that communication works to allow content on a previous page to be displayed. Is it a bug or do you think it could have been in the slide/video settings?
My original settings for the video content on a slide were to Display For: Duration of Video, the slide time matched the video length and I used autoplay......I changed it to Rest of Slide, and checked Pause Slide till End of Video and set the slide to 1 second so there was not much of a delay before going to the next slide.
Thanks,
Rod

No. Flash and HTML5 are two VERY different beasts. The fact that they are both running in a desktop environment DOES NOT guarantee they will behave the same.
If you think this is a bug, by all means report it to Adobe. There's a bug reporting form link in all forums.
