Captivate 9 crashes almost every time I publish as video

Help!

I have a 35 slide file that I'm trying to save as a video. It has embedded videos in it and audio on every slide. 2 out of 3 times Captivate crashes anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3rd of the way through converting the SWF to a video. I've taken out the longer mp4s that I embedded - when those were in, it crashed every time. But now, I have to wait about 20-30 min while it publishes and roll the dice to see if it crashes.  I've tried deleting preferences and clearing the Captivate cache.

Videos are usually already compressed files.  During the publish process more compression is used.  Sometimes trying to compress something twice causes an issue and publishing will fail.

I usually suggest that people start hiding groups of slides to test where in the project the publishing is experiencing issues.  If your publish process suddenly works better when you hide a group of 10 or 20 slides, then use a process of elimination to find out which of those slides contains the glitch.

Hi there,

can you please share the project with us so that we can try the issue at our end. Please upload it to a shared workspace(say Drop box), send me the link at nsukumar@adobe.com

Thanks,

Nimmy Sukumaran.

There are many reasons why this could be occurring.  The answer to one is not necessarily the answer to your issue.

You will need to give more details and explain what you have done so far to try and resolve the issue.

Try turning on the Task Manager and watch the Performance tab RAM to see whether or not your computer is simply running out of resources during the publishing process.
