Hi,
I am currently attempting to import a WAV file into a Captivate 9 project. Captivate immediately crashes every time I attempted to do so - regardless of the method I attempt to use.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Chris

Did you try to import to the Library?

Let me try again.
Safe to assume that I should then import from the library after that point?

You can drag the file from the Library to a slide for slide audio, or indicate it when using the Audio dialog box. I always import all audio first to teh Library.

Just tried again.
It immediately crashed when I attempted to drag and drop a single audio directly into the library.

Did you try the Import button instead of dragging (you are probably a Mac user?).?

Did that.

Is it the same .wav file or any .wav file?

Any WAV file. I am including different audio files per slide.

Which version do you use? The latest version is 9.0.2.437. If you installed that last version, did you follow the instructions in the Release notes: to Clean Preferences and delete some Public folders?
It is possible that something is corrupted. Can you check the problem is related to one project or to all projects by creating a new project, and try to import the audio clips to that project. If you have the same problems, it is a global CP issue. Try in that case to clean the Preferences (you'll find two files in the subfolder Utils of the installation folder).

Did not know about the Release Notes. Is there a link to them so I can see if that is the issue?
I saw that for earlier versions but could not find a similar path in Captivate 9. You said "clean the preferences.' Would I simply delete all of the files in the folder? And which public folders?
It is all Captivate projects. I created a blank one and tried to import an audio file and it crashed. So, it is probably an application issue.

I wrote in my previous answer that you find two CleanPreferences file (one for Win, one for Mac) in the subfolder 'Utils' of the installation folder of CP. Run the appropriate file, while Captivate is closed.
Here the link to the release notes:

Thanks for the assist.
As far as we can tell, nothing changed after running that file. We were able to get around it by using MP3s instead of WAV files and it was successful.
