Hi, I have Adobe Captivate 9 and had to install a patch a few months ago.
Now, I'm in the middle of a project and a fatal error message comes up and the program CLOSES on me. I lost work (AGAIN).
Is anyone else having this issue? Can anyone advise me of a fix?
Where can I find out if there are updates that I need to download?
Thanks,
KAB

The latest version is 9.0.2.436, is that your version?
When you installed the patch did you follow the Release notes? It told to clean the Preferences and to delete some folders in Public Documents (for Windows)? Do you run Captivate as Administrator? Do you clear the cache regularly?

I am running Cp9 as administrator. The version I am running is 9.0.2.436. But wait - there may be a hoop through which Adobe Captivate app is expecting me to jump that I haven't... I'm on pins and needles to find out what I need to add to the list of tricks I need to perform to keep from losing work/files done in this app.
I too am having the issue with Cp9 shutting down randomly. Mine did so late yesterday afternoon without warning while I thought I was recording a simulation. When I reopened Cp9, that file, and two others I had saved during the last few days were gone! GONE - meaning not in the file folder, nowhere to be found! And, it is not my PC... It is a problem with Cp9. I have never had this happen ever with any other application or file - ever!
The scenario in the files from which I record simulations are complex, and take hours to set up before recording. When Cp9 shut down without warning yesterday while I assumed I was recording, not only did I lose the Cp9 file which I had spent nearly 10 hours creating; I also have to spend several hours re-creating the scenario in the application from which I am creating the simulation before I again try to record it!
So, even this morning I could not find the file even by searching, or right clicking on Cp9 in the tool bar. While showing this weird phenomenon to a coworker, and again right clicking - the files that had not displayed showed up (thank goodness I have a witness). When I went to open the file, Cp9's error notified me I did not have permission to open it. While my coworker stood and watched, I tried again and the file opened but only part of the recording is in the file... Not all I saved and not from any time I saved. Cp9 randomly kept random parts of the recording.
If I have learned one very hard, costly lesson while working in Captivate is that you better save your work and save often. But, that doesn't really matter because Cp9 doesn't really care what you save, or when. It decides what it will keep, when you can see the file to open it, and when it will let you.
