Captivate 9 - Images Flicker

New Here ,
Mar 17, 2016 Mar 17, 2016

Hello,

I use Captivate to create tutorials for my work, and deploy them to contracted companies through LearnUpon LMS. All our tutorials are exported in HTML5 TinCan (xAPI) format, and all include:

  • 50-110 Slides
  • MP3 Audio on most slides
  • MP4 Intro and Outro videos
  • Company-specific PNG images layered in the project for branding

The issue I'm having involves that last part, layered images. Until a couple weeks ago, the tutorials were uploading and working fine. A few days ago, we noticed that all PNG layered images in projects viewed

through LearnUpon in Firefox v44.0.2  were flicking between each slide (disappear before the slide changed, then reappear after a quick pause). I have double-checked everything and verified that the project

plays correctly when previewed in HTML5 in Captivate with Firefox. Older tutorials that were created in the exact same manner and used to work fine, now also have this issue. Chrome doesn't have this issue, it

only displays in Firefox when viewed through LearnUpon. LearnUpon support said this:

"I have looked and can see the issue alright. It’s definitely something that you will need to contact Captivate on. The course may be playing back differently on their site alright, but this could be due to the

way it’s being played back, ie is it in an iframe or new window etc. That aside, they will still need to support you to get the content to play correctly on an LMS, which i am sure they will be able to assist

you on."

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Software involved:

-Captivate 9.0.1.320

-Firefox v44.0.2

-Chrome V49.0.2623.87 m

Hi,

Is the issue specific to LearnUpon? Can you confirm whether it is happening on SCORM cloud as well?

It would also be helpful if you could share a sample project i.e. upload it to a shared location and email the link to mdas@adobe.com

Thanks,

Mohana

Hi Mohanadas,

I thought it was LearnUpon specific at first, but I just tried the same project in the same Firefox browser on SCORM cloud and saw the exact same problem.

It would also be helpful if you could share a sample project i.e. upload it to a shared location and email the link to mdas@adobe.com

That would be great. What is the best shared location for me to upload a project?

Thanks!
