Captivate 9 Project saved to a DVD -

New Here ,

Everything appeared to work correctly however ANY click on the DVD menu/submenu has a delay (spinning icon) of about 20 seconds before the action occurs.  This is even when clicking on a main menu link to go to a submenu.

Did I miss something when exporting to the DVD?  Any reason for this long delay on click?

Thank you for any help.

Hi there

DVDs are intended for either playing something like a movie or storing massive amounts of data. Likely the pause you are experiencing is due to the fact that retrieving things from a DVD is a vastly slower process than retrieving things from your local hard drive. The DVD works like the old records did. There is one long spiral of data. So the computer has to spin up the DVD, then locate the information and send it along, That process is pretty slow as compared to a hard drive.

Cheers... Rick

Thank you for the answer.  I build lots of data DVDs and I author DVD's with Encore so I understand.

If I manually make a data DVD with the same resource files and build the links directly in an html file, the DVD responds instantly.

It is only when I export from Captivate (there are additional files/folders captivate creates) to a data DVD that everything works slow.

So I'm convinced that it's not any read access time issue, it must be something in the overhead that Captivate adds.

Anyone else experience this?
