Captivate 9 Publish to PDF does not work on iPad or iPhone

Hello

I am using Captivate 9 on a Mac. The published PDF works fine on my laptop however I cannot get it to open on iPad or iPhone when I email it and open it in Outlook. It is just a blank screen. I've also tried opening it in the Acrobat app for iPad and iBooks. Still a blank screen.

I've tried several publishing options:

SWF/HTML, Export PDF

SWF/HTML, Export PDF, Flash Player 10, 10.2, 11

SWF/HTML uncheck Scalable HTML content

SWF only, Export PDF

There is nothing special about the file, no interactions, just 19 slides with photos and hyperlinks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Veronica

I suspect your issue is going to be that a Captivate PDF is actually a multimedia PDF which has an SWF running inside it.  But since iPads don't support Flash and the PDF reader on an iPad would also not have an embedded Flash Player, then your PDF won't work there.

Thanks for your response, Rod. So then there is no way to Export a PDF from Captivate 9 that will work on iPad?

None that I know of.  But there may be some app out there for iPads that allows you to play a multimedia PDF.  I've not had the need to do this as yet so I haven't looked hard for one.
