Hi, I am new to Captivate (9) - just started to try to figure out how thigs work ..
so I thought I´d ask here ..
1) Is ´slider interaction´ functionality possible in captivate 9, too, like in storyline?
Storyline example: http://www.seriouslearning.nl/challenges/Ch52/story.html
2) for some reason I can´t find the most simple thing - how to set transitions between SLIDES ..
(I have already figured out different options for objects, etc. - but not for the transition between slides ... In captivate 8 it was on right click when clicked on a slide, in captivate 9 I have no idea .. )
3) how to publish transparent animation /animated semi-transparent transitions etc. in responsive html5 output?
Is there some workflow available that keeps the transparency?
I don´t seem to be succesful, must be doing something wrong ..
Can someone help plesase?
Or navigate me to wher I can find out more?
Thanks,
a.

Captivate has no native slider interaction like Storyline.
However, if you are NOT using HTML5 output, there is a widget available that allows you to create slider interactions that are much more sophisticated than the Storyline sliders.

Slide transitions are available from the Timing tab. If you don't see this tab on the right side of the Captivate interface you can activate it from the Windows menu.
Not sure about your semi transparent animations question. Are you talking about animated GIFs or anmations created in Captivate, or animations created in Adobe Edge and imported into Captivate?

No slider interaction in Captivate. For SWF output there is a slider widget available from InfoSemantics.
Slide transitions are in the Timing panel.
I don't know what you mean exactly by 'transparent animations', could you explain? I added Edge Animate animations with transparent background to Captivate files.

RodWard, Lilybiri - thanks a lot!
and thanks RodWard for the widgets, too,
seems to be helpful ..
and easy to use ..
(I was just hoping for some built-in/html5 option, though. )
As for the transparency -
(I may have confused two things together, sorry - still very new to Captivate ..... I´ll double check - and also will do some more testing in Edge Animate ... /and will come back here to ask a bit more clearly then .. ,
eventually ..
Btw, meanwhile - while researching a bit more - I happened to come across your blogs .. of both of you ..
(great and helpful resources, both of them .. )
Thanks,
a.

This guy built a slider in Captivate but didn't give a very detailed description of how he did it.

Ok, a few hours later and I have a new appreciation for Storyline and it's intuitive interface which Captivate definitely does not have.
I was able to build the slider using the "Slidelets" to trigger the Execute Advanced Actions triggers and make all the necessary changes (turn images on/off and update the variable).
Working example here:

THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS... it's still Flash. Womp womp.
Yup, might as well get the widget.
So frustrating because IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE!!!
The Slidelets are Flash, but the Advanced Actions aren't. You can have the Advanced Actions trigger off of an HTML5 button, but the only way to activate the trigger with Captivate's buttons is with a click. No option to trigger with rollover.
A simple hotspot instead of the silly Slidelet (cringe everytime I say that) would solve this problem.
A hotspot like is available in Storyline.
