Captivate 9 - While trying to record video, why does my webcam sometimes display as a black screen in the final recording?

I am recording demo videos using Adobe Captivate 9. One of my videos requires me to explain how to adjust your video settings. Sometimes the live stream from my webcam gets recorded but most times it does not. I have been trying to narrow down the root cause but am not having much luck. Is there a way to ensure that Captivate captures the live feed from a webcam even if changes are made on the fly? As of right now I have not figured out the rhyme or reason as to why it sometimes works but most times does not.

~Webcam is a built in laptop webcam

Hi.

When I have to create something similar, I use Adobe Presenter to record (screen, voice and built-in camera. all at once), edit and insert the video in Captivate.

As a workaround I installed a 3rd party webcam splitter software.
