Captivate Closed Captions, Voice audio on simulations - hiccuping with mouse clicks!

Guest

I have created a demo simulation (using Excel) with recorded voiceover.  Now, after adding Closed Captions my voiceover is 'hiccuping' everytime the simulation shows a mouse-click. This didn't happen before I added the Closed Captions.  Any suggestions?

I'd usually suggest breathing into a paper bag for hiccups, but I don't think that will help in this case 😉

I'd try playing the content in a different browser, and on somebody else's system.  If you find that the issue is only present on your system, you may need to update your audio drivers.

Nope, different browsers make no difference.  Here is the link (make sure you watch as far as the mouse starts to click on the Excel screen);

I think this may be some kind of html5 vs Flash thing. I'm doing simulations again at the moment (not responsive) and have realised that, in-between clicks, Captivate has a brave attempt at recording any screen changes as .swf. As responsive projects are html5, there's going to be a problem. Basically, simulations, demos etc haven't been optimised for html5.

I think this is the issue here.  I've published to connect as just HTML and it hiccups, if I publish as swf and HTML both, the hiccups don't go away completely but are greatly reduced.
