Recently - that is in the last month - I have been seeing Captivate skipping slides that should have been recorded when I am creating a new project, or adding new slides to an existing one. I find myself randomly clicking anywhere in the screen hoping that I will force Captivate to capture a slide for what I see on screen that I need to have in my final project. One especial issue - I was clicking and dragging down thru an Excel file to select a number of cells and no matter what - Captivate didn't capture it at all. It merely captured all the cells selected, but no action video. And I had one the exact same recording just a few months ago and it worked fine.

You always have the possibility to force a screen capture by using the shortcut key for a manual screenshot. You can find that shortcut key (and edit if you want) under Preferences, Recording, Keys.
Careful with FMR recording indeed. I always insert a Video Demo slide because there are often problems with the old FMR slides which were based on SWF technology and should be converted to MP4 on publishing, but since I experienced those problems I turned to recording Video Demo slides.

Thank you so much. I've used the keystroke to force captures in the past - but I've also just mouse-clicked to force a capture and it's always worked - until recently. likewise with FMR - worked find in the last couple months, but not this last week. It's good to learn these workarounds for the issues, but Captivate needs WAY too many workarounds - which at this time, it shouldn't.
Many thanks to you for your kindness and knowledge.

Understand what you mean, it should be easier and not needing so much workarounds.
