Hello,
I could really use someone's help. I have added the Closed captions to a software simulation and when I publish it as an MP4 or Video, the closed captions are not showing up when I click on the CC in the Microsoft Player. I have selected to include the skin in the Publish Settings. Everything works well if I publish as an HTML or SWF. I even tried to import the MP4 into Premier to add the captions there and it didn't work. I don't want to export them into Youtube to add the CC as I have had issues, probably my own mistake, but the timing isn't as accurate as if it is when it is added into the raw files. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I have figured it out using an external WebVTT file and a track element. Thanks

Have you (or anyone else) discovered a way to publish as an MP4 with closed captions without using an external WebVTT file? I'm using Captivate 2017.

Captivate's Closed Captioning is actually part of the Skin, not part of the content area. So when you publish to video, only the content section gets published. If you wanted closed captioning text to be visible in the video output, you would need to add Smart Shapes to each slide that replicated the CC text and were timed to synchronize with the audio track. Not ideal, but that's the way it currently works.
Feel free to log an enhancement request with Adobe to have them consider fixing this area. It's definitely worth doing.

Thanks, RodWard. I'll try that, and I'll definitely log an enhancement request.
