Hi,
I have set up a course where I have a menu button that contains numerous modules. Within each modules there are a few pretest questions. At the end of each module there is a button which takes you back to the main menu (located on slide 2), where the user can advance to the next module, or in this case, read back over the module. I am finding that if I complete the pretest questions within the first module, then from the menu go back to this module to read over again, once it reaches the pretest questions I cannot proceed past the questions as it freezes.
If anyone could help solve this issue I would be most grateful.
Thanks.

Pretest questions have limitations, one of them being to prevent all
navigation. Or are you using normal questions as pretest?

Thanks for your reply.
The idea is to have pretest questions at the beginning and then have one final assessment at the very end which contains graded questions. This idea would work assuming the user will only go through one run of the project, but the user will definitely want to read over the slides again. There lies my problem because the functionality of the application is severely hindered by the fact they won't be able to proceed past the pretest questions.

Do not use pretest questions but either custom questions or normal
questions for which you do not include score in Quiz total. Some quizzing
system variables will still take into account all questions and you'll need
workarounds for Review if you use regular questions. Pretest is limited: in
sequence, once at start of course, no navigation .

Once again, thanks for getting back to me - it's much appreciated.
Apologies for any naivety in the following paragraph, but I've only used Captivate for the best part of 4 days so I'm still trying to figure things out.
How can you set normal questions so they don't include into the overall score? The only option in the quiz properties I can see that would perhaps work this out, would be to set the points of the questions to 0, which would mean I'd have to get rid of the total questions part of the question results? If so, this isn't an issue if it's a workaround at least. Also, the custom questions - I'm not too sure what you mean by this? How do I go about setting up 'custom questions'?
Thanks.

That is indeed a workaround, no need to apologize. I should have been
explaining better, but since I am travelling and answering on my phone, no
CP available, cannot add screenshots.
I would recommend using the Advanced Interaction panel (F9) to manage
questions. You cannot edit in that panel but it is dynamically linked to
the Properties panel.
As for number of questions you will need to create some data yourself
instead of using system vars.
Custom questions are created with standard objects, variables and
advanced/shared actions. Maybe bit too complicayrd for a new user. You can
find examples on my blog.
