Captivate Quiz System Variables Not Working

New Here ,
Mar 31, 2016 Mar 31, 2016

My team and I are having issues getting a test score to score correctly within Captivate. Can anyone provide insight into this issue?

To summarize, we are seeing an issue where a course will only score correctly if the learner views all of the course pages. If the learner skips ahead using a custom built slide-out menu and takes the post-test, it doesn't score properly and shows the score as being 0 and the percentage of being NaN%.

Is it possible to allow a learner to skip ahead straight to the post-test and have their score still generated properly on a custom results page?

In the custom results page that BAI created, we use the default Captivate system variables $$cpQuizInfoPointsscored$$ (to tally up the correct number points scored) and $$cpInfoPercentage$$ (to tally up the total percentage calculated on the quiz). Under Preferences > Quiz > Reporting, we can customize how quiz reporting is successfully executed. We unchecked those and set both to just Quiz is passed, yet it made no difference. Skipping ahead to the final test still caused errors. In addition, there was a Captivate update released this month. I'm not sure if it's related but there was some bug fixes in this update. The update will bring you to version 9.0.1.

Thank you.

Can you put the variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored on the first quiz slide, display it for the rest of the project (always on top)? Normally the variable will be updated after each question slide.

Did you check Advanced Interaction panel (F9) to see if every scored object and the total score is the one you expected?

If you're trying to change things this much, I'm wondering if your scoring issue is perhaps due to removing default captions or elements from the quiz slides.  Have you removed any of the Question Title or Question Text captions? (The ones at the top of the slide that say what type of quiz question it is, or that have the question itself.)
