Captivate8 random quiz problem

Hi all,

I seem to have a problem with Captivate 8. I have a presentation with a quiz at the end and this consists of 10 random quiz slides that

take the questions from a question pool of 10 questions. Once I published this and gone through the test at some point a question gets

repeated so that it shows up twice and it seems to be the same question! I cannot think for the life of me as to why this is happening?

Any suggestions.

Sorry, but that is the way random questions work. They are taken randomly out of the pool when you launch the course, but there will not be a new subset from the pool on a second attempt. You have to exit and restart the course to get another set of random questions.

But, I need to have 10 random questions taking questions from a pool of 10 questions and all the questions get showhn with NONE getting repeated. Is there any way to achieve this?

Sorry, must have misunderstood. I never had this happen for me, but you are the second user reporting this problem. Of course I don't see any logic in having only 10 questions in a pool when you need to have 10 questions in a quiz. You only use it for randomizing the sequence, right? Which version do you use?

Yes, I just use it for randomising the sequence. I am using Captivate 8 and I really need to solve this problem!

Are you using the latest version 8.0.3? I cannot help you (am just a user like you), but recommend to log a bug report.

Feature Request/Bug Report Form

It is not a real alternative, but you can shuffle answers within most questions automatically. Sequence of question slides will remain, but you'll have at least a different 'look' for each question.

Yes, I will log a bug report.

In the meantime I will do away with the random quiz functionality and just have the questions in a set order.

You are using 9, so I wondered if you are perhaps still using 8.0.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2 or the real last version for 8 which is 8.0.3.

I am indeed using 9.0.1.320 but you are not yet on 9 (if your question title is correct)?

Funny thing is that I had version 9 installed just yesterday but it keeps crashing.

When you installed CP9, did you delete the Preferences folder (in your profile) and the Layouts folder?

Have a look at this article:

You still can use CleanPreferences (in subfolder Utils under the CP installation folder) now, while CP is closed.
