I am working with Captivate9, how do I lock the screen so that action items on the screen are completed before the end-user advances to the next slide?

Can you explain what you mean by 'actions items? You will need variables and conditional advanced actions, but need more details.

The idea is to not provide a default playbar, but use a Next button that will only appear after all the 'action items' have been used. If that is what you want?

Did you install the patch released couple of weeks ago? Present version is 9.0.1.320

We add a pause to the forward/next button so users have to take action before clicking through.
