change 'format bold' to 'Style bold'

I have a project in Chinese that has been built with SimSun font and has forced "format bold" (the one you make with the "B" button.  I need to make proper bold and have installed SimSun Bold font.  Now in Style I can see "Bold" as an option.

Question:  Is there a way to convert all the text in bold (made by pressing "B") to the proper bold Style?

Some confusion: are you talking about the 'real' Bold version of the font, or the 'faux' bold which you get by using CTRL-B.?

Do you realize that the font may be replaced by a websafe font it the user doesn't have that tont installed on his system? That will be the case for dynamic text, like the values of the system variables on the score slide.

The quickest way to change font formatting is to change the object styles (Object Style Manager). After that change you can save the theme as a custom theme, which can be applied to future projects.. However, if you did override the styles a lot (look for a +sign before the style name in the style field) you will have to do it manually for all text that has an overridden style.

OK.  Here is more information:

Project is not responsive but font looks so bad that I was converting it to responsive so text can be 'text' and not graphics.

I didn't realise that font was going to be replaced if user doesn't have it, so I guess I will have to stay as non-responsive to be safe.

I was talking about faux (Ctrl+B) vs the real version of bold that you can select below the font field.  All the text has CTRL+B applied manually and wanted to globally change to real bold.

Replacement will be also for non-responsive projects when dyamic text is used, that is not limited to responsive projects. To be safe you should use only websafe fonts or Typekit fonts if you are on CP2017.

DId you override the text styles? I suspect that is the case, because you did it 'manually'. Lot of users don't realize the consequences of overriding styles when you want to have future changes applied in a quick way. I'm sorry.
