Change hover- and normal images for buttons

Community Beginner ,
Jan 11, 2016 Jan 11, 2016

Hi together!

We're trying to change the images of our buttons. We have to change the hover- and the normal images with functions. Now, if we change the old with correct new images in data structure (Drive C:), there aren't any changes in Adobe Captivate at the end.

How can I change the hover and normal images using main data structure of Adobe Captivate in Drive (C:)?

Yours sincerely

Custom themes are saved in 'your' folder (depends on the OS you are using), not in the installation folder of Captivate. There is a logical reason: not all CP-users have access to the installation folders at all. That doesn't prevent you to set a custom theme as default theme. I'm doing that all the time.

I don't understand your question? Why 'functions'? Cannot you just create a custom theme and set it as the default theme? A theme includes all object styles (which means also the three inbuilt states for buttons), master slides and skin.

I tried, but as soon as I want to change a picture in a theme, it goes back to other pictures in the data structure, where all the buttons for this Programme are. I cannot change an image of my button (.png).

You can use the old type of buttons, image buttons in your case, or fill a shape button with an image. The first type needs you to create 3 images for each state, with specific names like the image buttons you'll see in the Gallery subfolder: name_up, name_over and name_down. You can then set them as default button style using the Object Style Manager. Be sure to save the theme with a custom name.  For shape buttons, have a look at:

Only on Quiz and Score slides the buttons cannot be replaced by a shape button. After you have created the button style that you want (either image button or shape button), and set as default button style, any button you'll add will have that style. You can check the master slides as well, and edit the buttons there (like for quiz/score slides). All that will be saved in the Theme.  You can even create a custom theme color palette, which will be available for all your courses:
