When you have edited at least one of the style features of an object, open the menu to the right of the Style Name

NewStyle.png

In the screenshot you see that the style of an object has been changed (look at the + sign before the name SB). Open the hamburger menu (red arrow) and choose Create New Style, give this a new name.

Existing styles can be managed in the Object Style Manager (Preferences menu).

At this moment you are using the Default Smartshape style for that shape button. Changing that shape to a shape button is irrelevant for the style itself. Each shape style in the Object Style Manager has automatically styles for 3 of the 4 InBuilt states: Normal, Rollover and Down (the 4th state, Visited, is not in the style, a bug IMO). When you change a shape to a button on a slide it uses the same style but added those InBuilt States.

To be able to create a new style, you need to edit the style. Try changing the stroke or the fill color for one or more of the InBuilt states and a + sign will appear before 'Default Smart Shape Style'. At that moment the option 'Create New Style' will become available.

Object styles are components of the used theme. If you switch to another theme, you'll see that the Default SmartShape style will change, as well for a normal shape as for a shape button.

BTW I branched this to a new thread, because it has no relation with the first question. Makes it easier for other users to find the thread.

Lieve, I already follow your instructions in the blog and what you answered here. But did I miss something?  There's no check box for (Pause project until user clicks)

Oliver, you are on a responsive project with Fluid Boxes! Are you sure you need such a project, because it has a lot of limitations. The blog you are referring to was certainly not for Fluid Boxes? Do not believe everything that is written about Fluid Boxes: they are NOT easy at all to use them in a proper way, and that is not only about the limitations but about the way you have to reflect on setting up fluid boxes. Can you have a look at this blog post, where I compare the 3 ways to have  project displayed on all devices. In my career requests for responsive projects compared to normal https://elearning.adobe.com/2017/11/tough-choice-breakpoints-or-fluid-boxes/projects is only about 10%.

About your question: shape buttons will have a pausing point by default at 1,5seconds. You can see it in the Timing Properties panel. Only for shape buttons on master slides, which do not have any timing, will you see the option to pause in tha Actions tab. I suspect you were referring to a blog post where I discussed the creation of a shape button on the master slide.

A big problem in a fluid box with interactive object are the feedback messages. I will soon publish another blog post, following on this post bu transferred to a Fluid Boxes project. You'll see the problems with feedback messages for interactive objects.
