When recording a simulation, everything works fine, except that the click box is defaulted to always include in quiz. I have to go through the Adv Integration page and turn each one off. This is a pain for a large project, and I am not using any quizzing within any of my projects. Something appears to have been missed on the default setup. Is there a fix for this?
Regards,
Dave

Did you capture the simulation as a DEMO? It sounds like you may have captured for Assessment, which would explain why the Click Boxes were set to report to Quiz.

‌I used Custom setting for doing a software simulation

I just took a look in Cp9 and it appears that when you select Custom as the sim mode you cannot specify whether or not the Click Boxes that get added will be set to report to quiz. It must be on by default.

Sighing, by default Reporting is set on (since some versions) for Training simulation and for Assessment Simulation. I change it immediately after installing in the Preferences, Modes, before opening any file. That way it will be applied to all future files, you don't expect Reporting for a Training simulation, only for an Assessment simulation, right?

‌wow, yes, that is very strange. Especially when the Reporting for the project is turned off. Too funny... Include in Quiz? What Quiz?
It seems that when Captivate does anything called Defaults and Preferences... It is THEIR defaults and preferences and what the designers feel they should be... with very little flexibility. This is the same thing I found with the mouse type and features.
I just discovered a decent workaround... After recording the simulation, change properties on one click box (deselect the Include In Quiz checkbox) and select the option to Apply To All Objects of the same type. Same workaround for the mouse features.
Workaround is the key operative here. I just wish Adobe would fix some these issue. Maybe an option to be able to configure the defaults in version 10?

Sighing...since CP8's change in UI, customisability has regressed, because they aim at 'newbies'. Some defaults can be changed, lot not.

‌It's all good, as long as there are workarounds. I have an associate that is an expert with macros, so we're going to figure out how to automate some of these tasks. Thanks for everyone's help on my questions. This is a great forum and I very much appreciate all of it don't take the help for granted. THANKS!

Forgot to answer to 'What Quiz'? Maybe the term is not well chosen, but reporting is not limited to Quiz slides, any interactive object can have a score attached, and this allows to create custom Quiz slides with more flexibility and total control for the developer, while reporting to a SCORM compliant LMS will happen. That is something I like a lot, will often include custom question slides. You can find several examples on my blog. Hotspot slides are too limited for me in their default Captivate form:
