Click Boxes don’t pause properly at Synchronized Video

I been working in a video presentation I made with after effects and exported in mp4 H.264 format imported as a Multi-Slide Synchronized Video to one slide.

The main idea was to use the full animation capabilities of Ae to animate dynamic images, text and even buttons that jumps over the video and then in captivate place some invisible click boxes over the video buttons that could make pause the video and resume after click. In After effects I placed some markers to know exactly where to set the click boxes in Captivate 2017.

This works but not totally, It usually start working flawlessly but sometimes during the half of the video or near the end the click boxes (or stoppers as I like to call them) starts to fail to read the time properly at preview mode or even published in HTML (SWF don’t even open the video so I think is not an option), so the time where I set the click box to pause the video playback can sometimes get delayed by a second or more and left me without a visible video button to click (the click box of course is still there invisible, but in the video the animated button disappears and breaks the illusion of a clickable video button).

This is very random because the time where a click button is delayed is usually never the same in every preview or export of the project, so this problem can show at different time spots. When they appear usually affects and delays the rest and upcoming click buttons of the sync video.

Anyway, I add a Navigation bar in the Skin settings and it helps to move back the playhead, play the movie button again and usually fix the synchronicity issues of the delayed click boxes, is not the ideal but solve the problem partially.

Some things to consider

  • Video imported as Multi-Slide Synchronized Video to the slide
  • Video is 30fps and only 10,2Mb compressed with H.264 (don’t think that is too much for an internal local server of a company, or not?)
  • All Click boxes are 0,4 s long and are in sync with the time I place in the after effects markers (I’m aware that click boxes needs to be aligned at the last frame in the timeline where the “pause” icon is).
  • Properties of all the click boxes are set with “Continue”, “Infinite Attempts” and “Pause project until user click” option selected.
  • I checked the export setting and turn off any compression of the movie or the content at exporting the project to the computer.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
