Hello,
I'm creating a company history timeline in Captivate 9. I have one button for each year, and each year has text along with 3 different photos.
When the user clicks a year, it prompts for the text and 3 photos to show up, they're all in the same position, and show up one after the other. I set up photo 1 at 0 sec, photo 2 at 5 secs, and photo 3 at 10 secs.
I created advanced actions for each button, hiding everything and then showing the corresponding year. However, the issue I'm having is that it works only for the first button that is pushed, any button I press first. For the remaining buttons, it only shows the last picture in the group. When I go back to the button that did work initially, it also only shows the last pic.
Any ideas of what I could be doing wrong?
Thank you,
Lucy
I think you misunderstand how Captivate's interactivity and Advanced Actions work.
You mention in your original post that you wanted each of the photos to be timed to appear after one another in the same position. This Advanced Action isn't going to achieve that for you.
If you want some kind of timing on the objects then you'd need HIDE all other object groups first (as you have done) but then SHOW the first image, followed by a Delay Next Action by 5 seconds and then HIDE the first image and SH

You'll need to show us how you have set up your Advanced Actions that show or hide these objects.

You also need to make sure that Continue Playing Project is NOT selected in the Properties for each button. Otherwise, the slide timeline will continue playing and you'll end up on a different slide.

Outstanding directions! It worked perfectly. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and for doing it in such a clear and precise manner. I appreciate it!

I have a related follow up question. Buttons for each year are working as intended and the photos are showing up one after the other, thanks to your instructions.
My question now is that the BACK button is not going back to the previous slide, it goes back to the previous year clicked instead. Can you help?
Thank you!
Lucy

Take a look at this video. It's not exactly what you're talking about but I would use something similar to do what you are describing.
