Compare two Captivate files for differences

Participant ,

Hi,

I have two of the same Captivate modules - different versions of the same file (not different versions of Captivate).  Is there a way I can compare the two and see what is different?

Thank you....

Hi Julie,

The easy answer would be to open them both and go through screen by screen in a split screen or on two monitors to check visual differences.  You can also check audio/narration and video in their respective audio and video management summaries

I'm not aware of any automated way.

Cheers,

Steve

Julie,

I do not think there is any method within Captivate to automatically compare two versions.

The only thing that I think may be of use is the to use the Project, Advanced Interactions screen and print the list for each project.

By comparing the two lists you may be able to identify differences in the interactions, but unfortunately it will not help with content such as text and images.

Good luck.

No real solution. I would compare the libraries as well (you can open any library as external library in another project). That will allow to compare assets (with their dates and size) and shared actions. You can export captions and notes to word documents and compare those as well.
