Continue does not on one slide.

I have a continue button on each slide. Works like a charm except the transition from slide 8 to 9. I click the button, it makes the sound and does not advance. If I advance using the built in navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, it skips slide 9 and advances to 10. I am flummoxed and any advice is most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As I wrote before: the click boxes were added so that the Captivate project acts like the PPT, you have to click on the slide to advance to the next slide. Do not add an extra button, which moreover has a pausing point which is left at 1,5secs, which means that the whole slide has not yet played when it is paused;-; here is a link to one of my recent blog posts about pausing timelines:

Check the actions On Enter for that specific slide 9. What is the action triggered by the Continue button? What is special at slide 8 and 9? Maybe post a screenshot of the timeline?

The only differences in the slides appears to be that 8 does not have a checkbox (these were all imported from a PPT slide show).

Please, next time insert the images as PNG or JPEG with the image button. Those TIFF images are so small...

You didn't tell this was a converted PPT project! How did you import: since you talk about 'click boxes' (which is totally different from checkboxes) I suspect you didn't import with automatic advanced. Why do you add an extra Continue button if you have already a click box? As for slide 9: something must have gone wrong when converting, look at the setup in PPT for that slide. Take out those Continue buttons please, and see how the project is playing.

yes I realize that now so sorry! And yeas I meant click box not check box. I am the recipient of the project that used the imported PPT files. And have to add some things to it.

Look at the timelines: you'll see that the click box only appears later and is pausing right at the end of the slide as it should be. Take out those buttons, please.

I have no idea why that click box is missing on a slide: you have to check the Source PPT file in that case.

What do you have to add? Each PPT slide is turned into a movie slide, nothing much can be edited nor changed. Captivate is not a PPT-converter, it is a full-blown eLearning authoring tool. Starting from a converted PPT-file will limit its functionality tremendously.

a third party had this large amount of content and wanted to add some interactivity (formative assessment) .swf animations,  and a summative assessment. Thanks again for your help!

Be careful with SWF animations: in the near future more browsers will not support Flash anymore!
