Controlling Module Completion Across Multiple Project Files

I'm working with Adobe Captivate 8.01 and am interested to know if it's possible to set up in a multi project training the following:  on the first screen there is a Module List with "radio buttons" next to each module name.  As the user enters each module, the radio button is shaded half to indicate he/she is "in progress" on that module and, when done, it's fully shaded.  I know that within a project I can do this with variables but what I don't know is how to do it when it's multiple projects.  Anybody know how it can be done?

This is an example of what I would like to do.  I know how the TOC in Captivate works as it can have a marker once the user has passed slides in a project (provided they're using the same device and accessing the training from the same server).  But I would like to try this way as it seems cleaner and more intuitive for the user.

Are you serving this from an LMS?

No, not from a LMS and the example picture shown comes from Allen Interactions and I don't believe the demo to the public is on a LMS.
