For some reason some of my users can't access my course. The screen gets stuck on loading when users click a module to start. My LMS support said the following. "The course was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure source. http:// etc". Here is the screen shot they sent. Doc1. To be perfectly honest I need really clear direction on resolving this. This is beyond my tech level. Many thanks!

Hi Diana,
I suspect the ones who can't access it are using a system outside of your intranet (home, personal laptop etc) and they don't have rights to access that server on those systems. It looks like you have it hosted on a secure server (that is what "https" means) It isn't a Captivate issue. Its an internal hosting issue.
A short answer to resolve it, is place the course on a non secure server (http) that way anyone can access it but that may violate your internal company protocols. Have a conversation with your IT guys. They should be able to advise you.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for the quick response. The course is actually loaded to our LMS's server and they are telling me it's not their issue. The whole reason for the LMS was outside, web-based hosting. Any thoughts?
Thank you again.

Hi Diana,
Just checking. In the Preference set-up have you checked "enable reporting for this project". Under Reporting? If you have uploaded it to an LMS it will be looking for that, even if you have not quizzes. Let me know if that resolves your issue.
Cheers,
STeve

Hi Steve, I am still having this issue. Some of the folks can take the course, for others it sits at loading when they click the module and it never opens. My LMS guys say I have to change the manifest.
. The problem is I can’t even locate a manifest file. I publish my modules to my computer, enable scoring in SCORM, upload to the LMS.
Also, if I am publishing both SWF and HTML will all users need to install flash?
I have a guinea pig at work and we loaded the most recent version of Flash to her system and she still cannot get the course to load.
Any help/advice valued!!!! My IT guys at are at a loss at this point and I have hit my tech ceiling.

Hi Diana,
You have an intermittent problem, those are the worst kind to troubleshoot. The fact that it loads for some environments and not others, leads me to believe that it is not Captivate. If it was Captivate then the problem would be consistent. I suspect it has more to do with either individual system browser setting , (not allowing certain content or permission settings for certain users) I would run a comparison on those who it works for, and those that it doesn't. What is the difference in browser, security or system configurations?
You can play with the Manifest settings here

You need to search through the course files and find any http references and change them to https. It's a security issue to have http URL linked from a secure server.
On culprit is always the http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash when publishing swf.
