We are doing slides with animations in them and when they are published and html is launched there is a delay on the slides with animations that allows the rest of the timeline to start and run which brings up the NEXT button that isn't supposed to be until after the animation is over.  Also once the animation is over the slide will auto advance to the next slide when the timeline is complete (in this case 10 seconds) rather than staying there until the next button is pressed.

When we publish the project to a computer we don't have this issue.  When we publish it to a share drive and we access it through the internet is when we have the issue.

HTML output from Captivate is meant to be uploaded to a webserver or a Learning Management System, not to a shared drive. It is like a website, which also needs to be on a webserver.

Which type of animations are you talking about: animated GIF, OAM,...? How big is their file size?

If you inserted a button (which type?) it has by default a pausing point. Maybe you took out the pausing? Look at the button timeline if you see the pausing point. It is not normal that the playhead would continue to the next slide if there is a pausing point.
