CP8 Custom hot spot question works in the lesson but not in the assessment

We have a CP8 project where we've created a custom hotspot. It works fine in the lesson but the same hotspot used in the tutorial works except it won't advance to the next screen.

The hotspot is a smartshape used as a button. When the incorrect choice is clicked it gives feed back and shows the correct answer. The next button seems to come alive but when it is clicked it doesn't do anything just sits there.

I just looked at it and their slide works except that it won't advance to the next slide. They are currently using a smart shape for the next button. I tried adding a regular transparent button but it didn't move the project to the next slide either.

Shape button or normal button cannot be the cause of the issue at all, they have the same functionality. Can you give more details about the advanced (or shared) actions that you are using? Maybe post a screenshot of the timeline, you can also have problems with pausing?

Well I knew I was grasping at straws with that last try. The odd thing is this same question works fine in the presentation as a knowledge check and will advance to the next slide when the next button is selected. For some reason in the assessment it doesn't advance. I'm going to try and attach a copy of the timeline.

What are the Quiz settings? How many attempts do you allow? Do you use an advanced action?

Quiz settings is 1 attempt and the action on both passing and failing is continue. Backward movement is allowed and they are allowed to review the quiz.There are advanced actions. They tried adding go to next slide as part of the advanced action but that didn't work either. The advanced actions they have on this slide all consist of show or hide actions.
