CP8 Drag and Drop Widget not triggering Audio on Failure

Community Beginner ,

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on an issue I'm having with the Drag and Drop widget in CP8. I simply want to trigger an audio when the user clicks submit and they have selected the wrong option. The object resets as it's supposed to but the audio won't trigger. I've tried it both as an advanced action and as Play Audio on failure. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve

Are you talking about the InfoSemantics widget, or about the built in Drag&Drop?

How did you test?

How did you test: Preview in Browser or Preview HTML in Browser?

Found a work around.

If I associate an audio file with the Failure Caption and then make the failure caption transparent and remove the text the audio triggers when the item is dropped in the wrong location and the submit button is clicked. Not pretty, but it seems to be working.

Still looking for a reason the audio isn't playing when Play Audio is selected for On Failure.

Thanks!

I need to open an older system, to have access to CP8, because I use 9 normally. Which exact versions do you use? Latest one was 8.0.3.

I'm on 8.0.1.

I'll update and see if that helps.

Thanks!

There is another way to do this.

You can also set the Drop Targets to perform Actions when a given Drag Object gets dropped onto them.  So you could for example have a different audio file play for each INCORRECT drag object that is dropped onto the target.  That gives you a lot of flexibility.
