I'm trying to play with the GeoLoc functions. I tried building my own, without success based on the Australia Zoo online demo. So then I downloaded the files and that project won't work either.
When I run the project in preview and change the location from the Emulate drop down, it sits there on the map screen. I set the GeoLoc variable to display, to make sure that it was setting the variable, and it seems to be setting it.
Any ideas why this isn't working? I assume the project that Dr. Partridge posted actually works ![]()

Have you tried uploading your published content to a web server and testing from there?

Rod,
I"m fully aware of your credentials and respect your experience with the product. But this is an advertised feature of CP9 and also prominenently featured in product demo videos... And is not working, even with projects deployed by Adobe... And I'd like to know why?

I'd like to know why it's not working too. But all that experience you speak of won't be any benefit to you unless you will answer some rudimentary questions.
There are some things in Captivate output that just don't work when you run the projects from your hard drive. They work better when the content is served from a web server. That's why I asked if you were testing from hard drive or web server.
Now if you prefer NOT to answer the question (and there's no obligation to do so) I will withdraw my offer to help.

tthe geolocation emulation does not work that way, it is my understanding that it only works in the preview, where the frame has a menu to emulate the geolocation variables. Running from a server would require actually being at those geographic locations.
Get ready! An upgraded Adobe Community experience is coming in January.
