Custom buttons using animate cc

Hi

I realise this is possibly more of a Animate CC question than a Captivate question, but whenever I've referenced Captivate in that forum in the past people don't seem to know what you're on about.

I've successfully managed to create a custom button in Animate CC by creating a button with an animate movie clip dropped into the 'Over' state. I've then on the main stage added the HTML5 mouse click code snippet and added the 'window.parent.cpAPIInterface.next();' code within the function and published as an OAM file.

All works fine in Captivate 9 when importing as a web object.

However, I noticed in Animate CC there were snippets for Mouse Out, in addition to Mouse Over, which leads me to my question.

Instead of creating a button could you not create a series of Movie Clips then reference them to play when triggering those Event Handlers so on Mouse Over play one movie clip on Mouse Out play another movie clip?

You are right, this really is an Animate CC question.

You need to create a movieclip, inside of that movieclip add your "state" movieclips, each on a separate frame and have stop() actions on each frame.

Add the event listeners to the main movieclip and have the event handler(s) jump to the different frames inside of the main movieclip
